This website was completed as part of a class case competition, and is my most recent website. For this project, my class was tasked with the redesign of Suzanne Collins' website, who is the author of the popular Hunger Games series. Despite her success, her online presence is in need of updating. After being given a prompt establishing the clients' needs and wishes, I developed a sprint action plan. In executing these sprints, I completed user research and utilized my findings to determine the most important elements of the redesign. I then created a moodboard, established a color palette and font styles, and implemented those decisions to develop my site wireframe into a mockup. Lastly, I executed my design using Bootstrap 5, HTML and CSS hand coding. My site was selected by the professor as the class winner.
This assignment was a collaboration with one of the Journalism Classes in the School of Media Arts and Design. They were tasked with finding local stories and creating media packages, which the Interactive Design students then used to develop websites that would showcase their content. The journalism students presented their stories to my Interactive Design class, where we then were able to ask questions about what format and stylistic elements they wanted to include in the site. From there we utilized the copy, imagery, and videos that they provided to construct cohesive and unique sites that brought all of the elements of their story together. This site was hand coded using HTML, CSS, and some Bootstrap 5 elements.
This project was completed in teams of three. Throughout this project my team and I developed a design question, and then went through the entire process of User Experience Research and design. This process resulted in a high fidelity prototype deliverable, which was created with Adobe XD.
